Crain’s New York Business: David Geffen, co-founder of DreamWorks Animation, has donated $100 million in exchange for naming rights to Avery Fisher Hall, the New York Philharmonic’s home at Lincoln Center. For several months, Lincoln Center had been looking for a large donor whose name would rechristen the building. By September, in time for the start of the Philharmonic’s 2015-2016 season, the building will be known as David Geffen Hall. “To be involved with such a beloved and iconic institution is deeply satisfying,” Geffen said.
