Viacom Layoffs Reach MTV, VH1 Amid Restructuring

Billboard: Following Viacom’s February news of a major media restructuring and the departure of music head Van Toffler, layoffs at the company have started to hit MTV and VH1, after reports earlier this week of layoffs at TV Land. The staff cuts have hit both MTV and VH1 as Viacom consolidates its music and entertainment divisions with the goal of saving $250 million. “Some of the programming that we acquired years ago just doesn’t work anymore.”
