Lions Gate Entertainment has a new method: financial backing from a major Chinese entertainment company. The U.S. studio behind “The Hunger Games” is sealing a film-financing deal worth up to $375 million with Hunan TV & Broadcast Intermediary, a major Chinese broadcaster, that could help boost its presence in China’s growing movie market and make more big-budget films with global appeal.
