TheStreet: S&P Capital IQ analyst Tuna Amobi said Viacom should see improving ad trends following the TV upfronts. He also expects progress will be made on Viacom’s efforts to monetize non-Nielsen viewership. While Amobi is pleased with efforts being taken by Viacom, he said there is still a chance the company will consider merging with CBS, despite Viacom’s denials of that possibility. As distribution companies scale up, he said, there are questions about whether pure content plays like Viacom become vulnerable.
