Zynga Veterans’ Startup Preps Micropayments for News

Financial Times: The people behind FarmVille and Mafia Wars want to bring micropayments to the news. CoinTent, a startup founded by three former employees of Zynga, has raised $1 million from investors including Zynga CEO Mark Pincus and QueensBridge Venture Partners, the venture capital group co-founded by the rapper Nas that backs Dropbox and Lyft. The company says it is in talks with a number of top U.S. newspapers and magazines. “We saw a lot of corollaries with what is working in the gaming space.”
