Dish Network in New Deal to Carry Weather Channel

Atlanta Business Chronicle: A ray of sunshine broke through Tuesday for The Weather Channel. The Atlanta-based network and Dish Network have inked a multi-year contract renewal keeps The Weather Channel on Dish and makes available The Weather Channel interactive app on Hopper Whole-Home HD DVR and other select set-top boxes. The news comes weeks after a report forecasting a “deteriorating” financial situation at The Weather Channel, as the money it gets from pay-TV providers isn’t guaranteed in the age of cord cutting.
