USA Today: First came Mobilegeddon. Now Facebookgeddon? The giant social network is tweaking its powerful algorithm that determines what people see in their News Feed. The changes are designed to show more updates from friends. That may be welcome news to some users who are more interested in updates from friends than articles from news outlets or promotions from brands. But the shift may not be so popular in some quarters. It could choke traffic to publishers and other pages, Facebook acknowledged. In some cases, “post reach and referral traffic could potentially decline.”
