Tina Brown’s ‘Live Journalism’ Returns with Big Names

Advertising Age: Tina Brown’s Women in the World, her live-event series, returns this week. Women in the World is the second — or maybe third — act for Brown, who famously edited Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, before launching her own short-lived Talk magazine. Later, she founded the digital-only Daily Beast under Barry Diller’s IAC umbrella and left — after the company’s disastrous acquisition of Newsweek — with the Women in the World series in 2013. Now Brown leads a company of about 20 people that puts on Women in the World — which Brown calls “live journalism” — with a cast of speakers including Hillary Clinton, Meryl Streep and Barbra Streisand.
