Wall Street Journal: AOL CEO Tim Armstrong stands to net nearly $180 million from the sale of his company to phone giant Verizon, though he won’t be eligible for a good chunk of that money until a year after the deal closes. Armstrong has an effective 6.7% ownership of the company, making him the largest individual shareholder. The 1.68 million shares he owns have a market value of $84 million. Since Armstrong spent $25 million of his own money in the course of building up that stake — he also received stock awards — he will net about $59 million from selling his shares.
