Talking New Media: The travel media company Lonely Planet has announced plans to launch a U.S. edition of Lonely Planet magazine, available in print and digital formats on Sept. 2. The magazine will launch with a rate base of 450,000 and will be published out of Lonely Planet’s headquarters near Nashville. The new quarterly U.S. edition will have a cover price of $5.99. Lonely Planet originally launched a U.K. edition called Lonely Planet Traveler in 2008, and Indian and the Argentine editions in 2010. It currently is available 11 international editions.
