WWD: Time Inc. is still in contraction mode as it right-sizes its fleet of publications to fit the digital landscape. The New York-based publisher has targeted its books division, cutting 15 staffers, mainly on the edit side. The layoffs, which took place this week, equally impacted the New York  and Birmingham, Ala., offices, which in total had employed roughly 80 people. Managing editor Matt DeMazza was among the higher ranking editors who were let go. Time Inc. confirmed the layoffs but declined to provide further detail.
