USA Today: Michael Wolff: “When Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg announced the acquisition of their business last week by Vox Media — making no dollar numbers public, and with reports indicating no cash was involved in the deal — they continued to make it sound like a deal of the century.  … Swisher and Mossberg now pin their hopes on Vox’s exit coattails — that it and BuzzFeed will prove to be billion dollar publishing models, not just on paper but with someone, old media perhaps, handing out real dollars. Pay no attention to the fact that this new traffic model — scale, absurd scale — costs more to obtain than advertisers are willing to pay for it.”
