New York Times: Spotify has struck a deal with the electronic music site Beatport that will bring it new music and video content, the latest step in its intensifying competition with Apple over streaming music. Spotify’s deal with Beatport will also bring programming from the dozens of music festivals around the world operated by Beatport’s parent company, SFX Entertainment, which was founded three years ago by the media mogul Robert F.X. Sillerman to capitalize on the growing popularity of dance music.
