Wall Street Journal: Comcast, in a regulatory filing, said it took a $252 million impairment charge related to the goodwill on its investment in the Weather Channel. The channel faces a major threat to its core business as pay-TV distributors push back on carriage fees. Meanwhile, Comcast also disclosed an increase in the value of its stake in streaming site Hulu, which has been exploring adding an advertising-free option to its streaming service.
