Bloomberg Founder Buys Historic London Mansion

Now Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York, has purchased an historic riverside mansion once owned by George Eliot. Bloomberg splashed out £17 million on the seven-bedroom property in the exclusive Cheyne Walk in Chelsea. As well as its rich artistic heritage, the 5,000 sq ft property boats an impressive literary history. The novelist Mary Ann Evans — better known as George Eliot — lived in the house until her death in 1880.
