TheStreet: Disney, which has benefited for years from the strength of sports juggernaut ESPN, is gaining admirers on Wall Street even as the cable channel is being rattled by declining subscribers and rising programming costs. As Disney prepares to release its fiscal third quarter earnings on Aug. 4, analysts are betting that its film studios, which have been on fire this year, will offset ESPN’s doldrums with the long-awaited “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” scheduled for release on Dec. 18. “‘Star Wars’ is all anyone talks about.”
