Wall Street Journal: The push to unionize digital newsrooms is marching forward. The Guardian US has become the latest digital newsroom where editorial staffers have voted to join a union, following in the footsteps of Gawker Media and Salon.com. The British news organization’s 45 U.S. newsroom employees voted unanimously to become part of the NewsGuild-CWA, which represents media staffers in North America. “Digital media is growing up, and it’s time our digital reporters received the same benefits and protections as their print media colleagues.”
