New York Times: The September issue of Vogue will go on sale exclusively at discount retailer Target on Aug. 14 and more broadly several days later. In interactive ads in the September issue, Target has reimagined classic images from Vogue, dating to the early 1900s. Using their smartphones, readers of the fashion magazine can scan items tagged with Shazam’s logo to learn more or buy them immediately. Shazam introduced its visual display technology in May. Target has declined to comment on how much it spent on the Vogue campaign.
