Viacom’s MTV Hosts VMA Mini Street Festival

Los Angeles Times: While the MTV Video Music Awards were broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater on Sunday, a handful of the shows took place off campus, blocks away from the awards show’s L.A. Live location. Telecast performances from Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pharrell and Demi Lovato took place on a remote stage erected in front of the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Tickets for the special concert were not on sale to the general public. Instead, audience members included a mix of contest winners and superfans.
