New York Times Shakes Up Washington News Bureau

Politico: Carolyn Ryan, New York Times political editor and Washington bureau chief, will cease running the day-to-day business of the bureau to focus her attention to further building the paper’s political desks. Ryan announced earlier this week that Elisabeth Bumiller, currently deputy bureau chief, will be named Washington editor and run the bureau day-to-day so Ryan can turn her attention to building political desks in Washington and New York.
