Independent: Tony Abbott’s spell as Australian prime minister has been short and not particularly sweet. And on Monday his two-year tenure came to an end when rival Malcolm Turnbull won a snap vote for the Liberal Party leadership following a sudden coup. Abbott’s long-time ally Rupert Murdoch is among those who are “sad” to see him go. “Sad to see such a decent man as Abbott topped,” Murdoch tweeted.
