Chicago Tribune: Tribune Publishing CEO Jack Griffin, who has seen his company’s stock plunge in the wake of a controversial leadership change at the Los Angeles Times and lowered financial guidance, has told investors that the media company was making “meaningful progress” on a transformation plan — with one notable exception. “In the year since our spinoff, financial performance at the Los Angeles Times Media Group has underperformed our expectations,” Griffin said during a hastily convened investor call.
