New York Post: Vevo is beefing up its management ranks as it seeks to broaden its reach and distance itself from its music label owners. Former Turner Broadcasting boss Phil Kent, who most recently oversaw CNN, is said to be joining the premium music destination as chairman. Kent is being brought on board to help develop content at the service and to reach out to new distributors, industry sources said. Vevo, with 11 billion monthly views globally, has in the past had discussions about gaining a foothold as a traditional TV channel.
