New York Times: Mort Zuckerman, the owner of the Daily News, is dismissing ace reporters while bolstering his global online platform. CEO Bill Holiber is creating a satellite operation, in New Jersey, with a mission in part to aggregate content from across the web and repackage it for the News’s own website. If focusing on the Internet is not the end of the tabloid itself, then perhaps it is the end of New York City’s tabloid era. Said Zuckerman: “We’re focusing the News more and more on its online activities.”
