New York Post: National Journal is making deep cuts to its newsroom as part of a plan to put its political and policy coverage behind a subscriber paywall. Parent Atlantic Media will slash the National Journal’s staff by about one quarter, while it beefs up political coverage at its more consumer-facing sister publication, the Atlantic. The company already announced in July that the 46-year-old magazine would stop publishing a print edition at year-end. Most of the National Journal’s content will go behind a top-tier paywall that will focus on analysis over breaking news.
