Journal Media Schedules Vote for Takeover by Gannett

Milwaukee Business Journal: Journal Media Group said that it will hold a special meeting March 1 to seek shareholder approval for its proposed acquisition by Gannett. McLean, Va.-based Gannett has agreed to pay $12 a share to acquire all shares of Journal Media Group, the parent company of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and other newspapers, in a deal worth $280 million. If approved, the transaction is likely to close later that month.
