Pinterest Hires Google Exec as New Head of Ad Sales

MarketWatch: Jon Kaplan, most recently VP for the Americas at Google, is joining Pinterest on March 7 to serve as the company’s new head of global sales. Kaplan, who spent the past 12 years at Alphabet’s Google, will report to Tim Kendall, Pinterest’s general manager for monetization. Kaplan’s hiring at Pinterest comes a few months after the image bookmarking service signaled plans to narrow the focus of its ad business.
