Telegraph: News UK, the British arm of Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper empire, is expected to slash more than 100 jobs under cost-cutting plans developed by its returned chief executive Rebekah Brooks. The publisher is putting around 90 commercial staff at risk of redundancy and is making targeted cuts across its newsrooms. It is understood that several news jobs at the Times, including foreign correspondents on contract, are under threat.
