Gannett Invests in Philly Mobile News Site Billy Penn

Billy Penn: USA Today publisher Gannett has become a minority owner of Spirited Media, the parent company of Billy Penn, a Philadelphia-based mobile news website. The investment will allow Billy Penn to add several positions in editorial, design, development and events and sales. In addition, the investment calls for Spirited Media to launch new brands in other local markets.
