Vice’s Shane Smith is Cannes’ Media Person of Year

TheDrum: Vice Media founder and CEO Shane Smith has been named as the Cannes Lions 2016 Media Person of the Year. Smith has been chosen for the honor that was created in 1999 to recognize innovators who have shaped the future of media. Smith will be presented with the title during the awards ceremony on June 22. The eight-day festival in Cannes, France will take place June 18-25.
