Comcast’s ‘Boss’ Fires Time Warner’s ‘Batman v Superman’

Deadline: Universal execs have something to crow about: Melissa McCarthy’s “The Boss” swatted away Warner Bros.’ “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” from No. 1 after its two-weekend hold at the box office. The studio-reported projections for each title are $23.48 million and $23.435 million, respectively.  But while “The Boss” is set to rank as McCarthy’s third No. 1 opener after “Identity Thief” and “Spy,” we can’t escape the fact that her box office openings have gradually lowered.
