Time Warner Passes on Buying Digital Studio Machinima

Video Ink: Warner Bros. is said to have passed on acquiring Machinima, a business into which it led two separate investment rounds totaling upwards of $42 million. Google Ventures, MK Capital, and Redpoint Ventures were also reported to have contributed to those rounds, as well. In total, the company has raised nearly $92 million. Various sources challenge whether Machinima has the runway to survive much longer, echoing an almost haunting similarity to where the business stood just two years ago when it first took the investment from Warner.
