Fierce Cable: Time Warner Cable is offering major broadcast networks, plus premium channels HBO and Showtime, for $10 a month to new customers when they sign up for the MSO’s $39.99-a-month 50 Mbps broadband tier. According to a rep, the skinny bundle is a standard cable TV package that’s not delivered over IP. But the MSO’s use of a skinny bundling strategy to promote a broadband package is notable, given that the operator hasn’t been a huge proponent of economy-sized pay-TV packaging.
