Vice Media Writers Ratify First Contract with Writers Guild

Deadline: The editorial staff of Vice Media has voted overwhelmingly to ratify its first WGA East contract. The three-year deal, which was approved by a vote of 73-2, calls for pay raises of at least 14% retroactive to January 1, and 5% pay increases in each of the second and third years. The agreement — which was reached in principle last week — also includes provisions on severance pay, preserving health benefits and more.
