Tribune Cool to $815 Million Takeover Move by Gannett

New York Post: Gannett said it offered to buy Tribune Publishing, but the owner of the Los Angeles Times refused to begin “constructive” talks. Tribune was first approached by the McLean, Va., company on April 12 but gave Gannett the cold shoulder. Therefore, Gannett CEO Robert Dickey said he was forced to go public with the offer. “We therefore are prepared to consider all alternatives to complete this transaction.”
