Tribune Chief Says Gannett Is ‘Trying to Steal Company’

Chicago Tribune: Tribune Publishing CEO Justin Dearborn has accused Gannett executives of “playing games” and of “erratic and unreliable” behavior a day after Gannett’s $815 million offer to purchase the publisher of the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times was made public. “I believe 100 percent in my heart that this is completely a manipulation, that they’re trying to steal the company, bum-rush us. It is ungentlemanly, it is not what we do in this industry. It is not the way we do business.”
