Barron’s: Bernstein analyst Carlos Kirjner has taken a deep dive into YouTube. The Alphabet-owned online video site is on a path to become one of the largest media businesses in the world, he said, with more than 1 billion people spending 40 minutes a day on the site. And assuming that “time spent is indicative of monetization potential and value,” YouTube could be worth $67 billion and $86 billion, he added. Yet because Google provides no public data on YouTube, “we know ridiculously little” about the venture.
