Netflix Loses Bid to Stream Relativity Movies Early

L.A. Biz: Netflix was planning add “Masterminds” and “The Disappointments Room” to its streaming service next month, but the judge in Relativity Media’s ongoing bankruptcy proceedings put the kibosh on that plan on Friday. The issue is that Relativity doesn’t plan to release the heist comedy starring Zach Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig into theaters until Sept. 30 and the supernatural thriller starring Kate Beckinsale until December. Streaming the two titles earlier than that threatens the studio’s exit from Chapter 11.
