Gannett Fears Decline in Tribune Publishing’s Value

USA Today: Gannett said Tuesday that it is maintaining its current offer for the Tribune Publishing, but signaled that negotiations need to proceed quickly to get a deal done. The publisher of USA Today said it is still willing to pay $15 per share for Tribune, which recently set plans to rename itself Tronc. “Gannett also believes it is imperative for due diligence to occur soon given the apparent rapid series of changes taking place inside Tribune that may diminish the value of Tribune to Gannett.”
