Financial Times: Light, a Silicon Valley start-up behind a radical cameras-within-a-camera product, has raised $30 million from Alphabet’s venture capital arm, in an attempt to challenge high-end photography companies such as Canon and Nikon. Light claims its first product, the L16, can replace a professional DSLR and several interchangeable lenses with a single lightweight unit that contains 16 separate cameras. It utilizes “computational imaging” software that combines several pictures into one high-resolution photo.
