Multichannel News: Media deal activity has begun to pick up, with last month’s $4.4 billion Lionsgate-Starz merger and NBCUniversal’s $3.8 billion purchase of DreamWorks Animation. Time Warner’s corporate structure — with no overly dominant shareholder — makes it ripe for a takeover, according to industry observers. “The obvious target is Time Warner,” said Mergermarket’s Ed Mullane. “It doesn’t have the ownership structure that large companies do.”
