Gawker Founder Fights Back Tears at Farewell Party

New York Post: At the bankrupt Gawker’s farewell party, founder Nick Denton spoke to the crowd and thanked his lawyers. He fought back tears as his general counsel praised the boss for dedicating his life to “the principal that people should be allowed to speak freely.” Gawker is scheduled to be sold at a private auction on Aug. 16.
