FCC Chief’s Plan Pushes Pay-TV Providers to Create Apps

MediaPost: U.S. cable and satellite providers will have to make television programs available to subscribers via apps, under a new proposal put forward by Federal Communications Commission chief Tom Wheeler. If the proposal passes, consumers will no longer have to rent set-top boxes.
