Tronc May Face Job and Cost Cuts, With or Without Gannett

Crain’s Chicago Business: Whether or not Gannett can still afford to buy Tronc, the Chicago Tribune parent is likely to face the same pressure to cut costs and jobs that’s roiling the rest of the industry. Gannett, which bid for Tronc earlier this year, announced this week that it’s cutting 2 percent of its workforce, or about 375 jobs.
