Disney Likely to Dominate Dismal Summer Movie Box Office

Bloomberg: With “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” opening in North American theaters this weekend, Disney starts the traditional blockbuster season with a movie that could top $1 billion in global ticket sales. However, the summer movie season is unlikely to set a record. The summer total could reach $4.7 billion, short of the 2013 record of $4.85 billion.
