Tronc Bid for Sun-Times Unlikely to Face Regulator Heat

Bloomberg Gadfly: it’s not clear what Tronc gets from its proposed Chicago Sun-Times acquisition that it really needs. There’s no good reason for the Department of Justice to block the deal; the idea that two local struggling newspapers can create a monopoly in the Internet age is a bit silly. But independent shareholders should have questions.
