FCC Expected to Shift Media Consolidation Into High Gear

TheStreet: On Oct. 24, the Federal Communications Commission board voted to eliminate the Main Studio Rule. The 77-year-old rule required that TV and radio stations operate a physical studio in the areas where they’re licensed. It seems like a small rule change, but it’s just the beginning of the biggest change in federal media ownership rules in more than half a century.
