Tronc to Buy Virginia’s Largest Newspaper for $34 Million

Virginian-Pilot: The Batten family, which has owned the Virginian-Pilot for more than a century, sold the newspaper and its associated businesses to Chicago-based media conglomerate Tronc for $34 million. The acquisition includes Inside Business and Style Weekly. It also involves the Pilot’s real estate properties.
