AT&T Eyed Acquisition of CBS Ahead of Deal for Time Warner

Wall Street Journal: Before AT&T CEO Stephenson set his sights on Time Warner, he expressed interest in acquiring CBS and met with Shari Redstone, the exec whose family controls the media company. But Redstone’s spokeswoman denied there was any expression of interest.
