Viacom to Buy Parent Company of Classic Cartoon Cat Garfield

Wall Street Journal: Viacom has sunk its claws into another hit franchise. The entertainment company said it has reached an agreement to acquire Paws Inc., the holding company that owns the rights to the lasagna-loving cartoon cat Garfield. Financial terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
